Featuring a few little additions to an existing product line, this is by far Chevrolet's tamest concept at the SEMA aftermarket trade show. The High Desert was actually the first trim to offer magnetorheological suspension on the Silverado. The SEMA-specific High Desert truck adds a performance exhaust that adds 7 horsepower, bigger brakes, all-weather floor liners and an illuminated bowtie grille emblem. Twenty-two-inch wheels with a bronze finish round out the upgrade list. Andrew Krok Nov.

From buying research to owner support, join 1. The theme at this year's Chevrolet SEMA Show Booth has been all about showing off concepts that incorporate parts you can buy from your local Chevy dealer. The Silverado High Desert Concept is no exception. Details about the production version are slim but the concept points to a pickup that takes storage and bed utility seriously. Most noticeable on the High Desert concept is the Avalanche style hard bed cover with flip open storage containers and flying wings near the cab. The cover not only looks badass but provides functionality that is guaranteed to satisfy any outdoors-man who needs organized storage for their fun weekend getaways.

Chevrolet's Silverado High Desert SEMA concept keeps it simple
An all-new flexible, lockable storage system in the cargo bed locks cargo away safely and protects it from the elements. The system installs over the roll-formed, high-strength steel bed to add dual side storage bins and a three-piece hard tonneau cover. Inside, a cargo divider can be raised to secure smaller items, or lowered to access the full length of the bed floor. As with all Silverado LT, LTZ, and High Country models, the tailgate locks with the keyfob, enabling users to secure their cargo with the push of a button. The High Desert package on the LT trim level features inch wheels with all-season tires, while inch wheels and all-terrain tires are available on LTZ and High Country trim levels.
If this Silverado High Desert looks familiar, it should. Got it? While the rendering of this SEMA concept looks lowered with skinny tires and a widened stance, the actual truck is far more reserved. It has a standard ride height with 22—inch wheels with standard tires.
